Chapter:
The following are key improvement works/services required in the town;
- Recent improvement works have been a huge benefit to the town, and completion of same should be considered. (See attached document for details.) Remaining work includes limestone kerbing around the Green and moving over-ground cables underground.
- Implementation of electronic speed warning signs and rumble strips for traffic on each approach road to the town. Pedestrian/Cyclist safety is of great concern in Durrow due to the high volume of through traffic, particularly HGVs on narrow streets. There is currently on electronic speed sign on the Cork Road.
- Placement of Solar bins around the town.
- Any upgrade works should provide EV charging terminals for electric cars in line with CM ST 6. This will encourage local residents to switch to electric cars, but could also encourage travelers on long-distance journeys to take a break in Durrow to charge their car
- Cork Road improvement works were previously proposed (See attached ) but did not commence. We request a review and consultation of the proposed works with an aim to regenerate this part of Durrow
