A survey specifically targeted at young people in Ballylinan has been launched to gather their views about the village. It's all part of a Health Check study into Ballylinan. This survey aimed at 13-20 year olds published as part of a Health Check to gather a representative sample of opinions of villagers - in this case young people and young adults.
It is essential that we have contributions from the young people who live in and around the village so that their views can be captured. They are the future of Ballylinan so we would ask all young people and those with younger members in their homes to have a go at the survey. We have kept the questions short for you - it should take no more than 2 minutes to fill out.
You might be wondering what this is all about?
This is part of a wider research study being carried out by South East Technological University (SETU) on Ballylinan village. It is supported by Laois County Council's Regeneration Section and the interim Ballylinan Town Team who have been assisting in getting the word out. This is the third survey announced, which follows a business and community surveys that were recently circulated.
We are looking at all aspects of society from public services to include traffic, to public lighting, facilities, shopping, vacancy & dereliction, sporting facilities to anti-social behaviour.
The findings of the surveys will be included in an overall Health Check report, which is the first step in the formulation of a regeneration plan for the village. It is envisaged that the next stage of the process will be the development of a plan which will identify key projects which the Town Team can seek funding for. This is in line with the Government’s Town Centre First Policy.
