Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed Material Alterations, the associated
the Screening for SEA and AA Determinations, SEA Environmental Report and the AA Natura
Impact Report may be made no later than 5.00pm on 21st October 2021 and will be taken
into consideration before the making of the Laois County Development Plan 2021-2027.
Late submissions will not be accepted.
To assist the public in engaging in the process the plan making team will be available for a
telephone consultation by appointment (phone 057 866 4065 and quote Material Alterations)
between the hours of 9.30 and 13.00 on the 4th and 6th October 2021.
Laois County Council will treat all personal data you may give as confidential. We will retain
your data for no longer than is necessary for the purpose of this County Development Plan
and in accordance with Laois County Council’s Retention Policy and the relevant Data
Protection legislation.

Notice is hereby given that the Members of Laois County Council following a Special Council
meeting on the 1st September 2021, having considered the Draft Laois County Development Plan
2021-2027 and the Chief Executive’s Report in respect of the submissions received, have resolved in
accordance with Section 12(6) and (7) of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2020, that the
Draft Plan be amended.
The proposed amendments constitute Material Alterations to the Draft Laois County Development
Plan 2021-2027.
Laois County Council has screened the Proposed Material Alterations and determined that certain
alterations require full Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and certain Material Alterations
require stage 2 Appropriate Assessment (AA). In accordance with Section 12(7)(aa) of the Planning
and Development Acts 2000 (as amended), the Screening for SEA and AA Determinations, a copy
of the proposed Material Alterations to the Draft Plan, the SEA Environmental Report (which
includes information on the likely significant effects on the environment of implementing relevant
alterations and has been informed by Strategic Flood Risk Assessment) and the AA Natura Impact
Report will be available for public inspection from 23rd September 2021 to 21st October 2021,
inclusive, at the following locations;
