Draft Bye-Laws in relation to Cemeteries

Laois County Council Draft Cemetery Bye-Laws

In accordance with the above legislation Laois County Council proposes to make Cemetery Bye-Laws for the Regulation of Cemeteries in the functional area of the County Council of the County of Laois. 

The Bye-Laws will apply to all cemeteries in which the Council has acquired any estate, interest or control. 

A copy of the Draft Bye-Laws is available to view, for a period of six weeks from the 18^th January 2022 to the 1^st March 2022, on the Council’s website  www.laois.ie . A hard copy is available free of charge from the Community Section, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lalor Avenue, Portlaoise, by contacting 057-8664000 or emailing dce@laoiscoco.ie.

You can make an observation or submission via the following options only;

• Online by registering on https://consult.laois.ie/ where you can then make a submission on the Draft Cemetery Bye-Laws; or
• Via email to dce@laoiscoco.ie; or
• In writing marked “Draft Cemetery Bye-Laws“ to the Administrative Officer, Community Section, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, James Fintan Lalor Avenue, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

Submissions or observations with respect to the draft Bye-Laws are to be received no later than 3.00 p.m. on Tuesday 1^st March 2022.
